Under direct supervision of the Director of Finance & Administration (D.O.F) for The Hartford Bishops’ Foundation, Inc. (HBF), the Senior Accountant is responsible for the maintenance of necessary lead schedules and supporting work papers related to the preparation of financial reports, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements and work necessary to support various audits as assigned by the D.O.F. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the processing, control and recording of Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts daily work to the general ledger. Further, to assist with supporting various IRS tax reporting responsibilities such as Form 1099 MISC reporting and donor tax letters.
A BS Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant work experience required. Five or more years of experience in a corporate work environment, with a minimum of two years of non-profit accounting experience.
