The Archdiocese of Hartford is creating a new and vibrant welcoming place to gather and to worship. The Cathedral of Saint Joseph is eager to reach out and bring in a whole new center of activity with participation from neighbors, the faithful and residents of Connecticut and beyond.
We envision working together with the Knights of Columbus to elevate awareness of Father Michael J. McGivney and the Cause for his Canonization. We share a deep interest in the Cause because Father McGivney was a priest of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Fritz Blasius, a Hartford Bishops’ Foundation (HBF) Board Member, is the creator of the Blasius Gift Challenge Program. He will match….dollar for dollar…every gift from individual members and/or state Councils of the Knights of Columbus in Connecticut to a maximum of $250,000 to illuminate the Cathedral Tower, Steeple and Cross of St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hartford.
The Knights of Columbus is a natural partner to the Archdiocese of Hartford. These institutions have worked in tandem for decades to sustain and exemplify Father McGivney’s vision.
